In The Picture

Three generations of women in the Netherlands

Libelle magazine celebrates its 85th anniversary with an exhibition at Museum Kranenburgh!

Libelle, the largest women’s media brand in the Netherlands, is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year! To mark this anniversary, Museum Kranenburgh, in collaboration with Libelle, is presenting In The Picture, an exhibition about three generations of women in the Netherlands. Photographers Patricia Steur (70), Brenda van Leeuwen (47), and Sanne Romeijn (26) have portrayed twelve families, one from each province. The photos are complemented by a photo series by Humberto Tan, in which he pays tribute to six remarkable Dutch women.

Libelle’s Grand Jubilee Survey focused on the lives of three generations of women and explored how women approach life then and now. How were and are they perceived in parenthood, work, sexuality, and the division of roles within a relationship? Were our (grand)mothers really so different from our daughters today? Discover it during a visit to In The Picture.
