What if a painting started to move? What if a beehive became art? What if a dot turned into an animal? At Museum Kranenburgh, students discover that art is more than just paintings on the wall and experience what it’s like to create art themselves.
Artists depict what concerns them – and this often ties in surprisingly well with what students themselves find important, such as the relationship between humans and nature and the world around them.
Twice a year, the museum undergoes a complete transformation. Each new exhibition brings different art, stories, and themes. This makes every visit new and inspiring, even if you have been before.
Primary school pupils are introduced to art and the museum in a playful way through various programs. They experience art with their senses and come up with imaginative stories. Take a look at our educational offerings to see which programs we currently offer.
Culture coaches
Museum Kranenburgh Culture coaches work weekly at primary schools in the municipality of Bergen. A culture coach is an artist or art teacher who works in the classroom during school hours, drawing on his or her own discipline: visual arts, dance, theater, music, photography, film, and graphic design. The culture coaches are financially supported by the municipality of Bergen. For more information or to book one of our programs, please contact us at cultuurcoaches@kranenburgh.nl.
