For Eternity is artist Tomáš Libertíny’s (SK, 1979) first solo museum exhibition in the Netherlands. It marks his nearly twenty years of collaborating with nature, and more specifically with honeybees. Through years of research and experimentation, Libertíny has developed methods to guide bees in co-creating intricate honeycomb sculptures.
For Eternity
Tomáš Libertíny
Drawing inspiration from art history, architecture, and the natural world, his imagery has a timeless appeal. Whether a Greek amphora, the bust of Nefertiti, or a simple conical form, each piece celebrates an object that has existed for an eternity – and will continue to do so. These works embody the endless cycle of the creative process, the wax, and its makers. In the villa, Museum Kranenburgh presents Inside the Beehive, an accompanying presentation that explores Libertíny’s work and the world of bees from an educational perspective.
